A. Tuxedo, unless you request otherwise. If desired, the band can wear white tux jackets and use white stand fronts to complement a 30's or 40's party theme.
Q. How long is your performance time?
A. Four hours is a standard time for most bands. We can reduce time to three hours at reduced cost.
Q. What time is your break schedule?
A. Three 15 minute breaks in four-hour engagement, two in a three-hour engagement.
Q. What does the band play during the dinner?
A. For background dinner music, we play a combination of ballads and quiet upbeat tunes.
Q. Can you provide preliminary cocktail piano music?
A. Yes, at extra charge we can provide a pianist to play a mix of standards and show tunes.
Q. Do you supply recorded music during breaks?
A. Yes, we can supply recorded music continually through our sound systems if desired. Otherwise silence during the break gives the audience's ear a rest, gives them time to converse quietly- and makes them more appreciative of the band 's music when it resumes playing.
Q. We're concerned that the band may be too loud.
A. Unless the client demands loud music, we strive to play at a volume level pleasant to the ear.Our sound system is used only to balance the instruments and for vocals.
Q. Can we hire you to perform beyond four hours?
A. Almost always!
Q. How far will you travel?
A. We prefer to stay within 100 miles of Houston, Texas. Our standard price includes travel within the city limits of Houston, but time and milescharges are applicable beyond Houston.
Q. Do you take requests?
A. Yes- and frequently solicit requests from the guests.
Q. If the event is the wedding or an anniversary party, will you learn a special song?
A. Unless the song is very obscure, we probably have it in our library. We will, of course, make an effort to be prepared to play your special song.
Q. Were can we hear The Kit Reid Band?
A. Most of out performances are private functions. Perhaps we can arrange for you to peek in on a private party, but this would depend on the venue and the client.
